West Atlantic Redevelopment Coalition (WARC) Primary Goal of WARC A general goal of the West Atlantic Redevelopment Coalition is the elimination of slum and blight within the West Atlantic Avenue corridor. Our goal is to seek gradual redevelopment with an emphasis on the preservation and enhancement of existing neighborhoods. The promotion of pedestrian friendly commercial centers along Atlantic Ave. is our aim. Mixing residential, commercial, and civic functions to create mixed-use development is another objective. The West Atlantic Avenue Redevelopment Plan was adopted by City Resolution 11-98. The second amendment to the plan was adopted on November 7, 2000. The West Atlantic Redevelopment Plan is available for purchase at the CRA Offices at 20 N. Swinton Avenue at a cost of $10.00. The plan provides a framework for development in the area in a manner that is consistent with the community vision. |
